Our business — in Dallas, Texas — is writing and editing. That’s it. Our writers, editors and proofreaders handle every form of writing for both literature and web copy. Whether you need a freelance writer, corporate editor, ghostwriter or copywriter, our service can help your business, nonprofit organization or writer to communicate effectively. As it turns out, even good writers welcome a wordsmith who can improve their work. If a project requires another service, we are happy to partner with or recommend reputable graphic designers, web-hosting agencies or printers.
Our Writers
Greg Shull, the founder and president of WordSmarts®, began his writing career as a journalist for The Sun News, a Knight-Ridder newspaper in Myrtle Beach, S.C., and later worked as a copy editor and corporate writer. Serving high-profile clients, such as Toyota Motor Company, Sam’s Club and Bridgestone Firestone, he found that many successful people excel in their field but cannot effectively express their thoughts in writing. So, he created WordSmarts as a resource for the writing challenged. Greg discovered his passion for writing at Stephen F. Austin State University, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in English. He also has a Master of Theology degree from Dallas Theological Seminary.
Mona Prufer has more than 35 years experience creating newsletters and writing and editing copy for newspapers, magazines and web sites. She is a former owner of her own advertising/public relations agency, Mountain Media in Gatlinburg, Tenn. With a B.A. in Journalism from Louisiana State University, Mona worked in newspapers for some 30 years, both as writer and editor, and created some prize-winning sections that are still going strong today. She has been a freelance writer for publications including Austin Magazine, Texas Monthly, Austin American-Statesman and many others, and she co-authored the original Parents Guide to Austin 1980.
Jill Miller has written and edited for both the nonprofit and corporate arenas, working with magazine, newspaper and trade publications, such as the bottler magazines Dr Pepper ClockDial and Seven Up Leader. Jill graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Journalism. While in school, she wrote and edited for The Daily Texan. Over the years, Jill has taught writing and grammar in the classroom and broadened her writing skills in the public-relations field.
